Kaiu was walking along the Seireitei, taking a break for a little bit. It was a break that was much needed. The past 5 years had been very hectic, with out the presence of the shinigami in the human world. He had no idea as to what was happening, what had happened to the shinigami that were stationed there, or how the world was changing. He could only hope for the best, but he knew that the world could only be in turmoil. It was something he had been preparing for the past few years, but had no idea as to what would happen as soon as the senkaimon fixed. He would have to deal with that when the time came. He only hoped that Amai was closer to fixing it. Then when she did have it fixed, he would have to form a plan according to how bad the situation was.
Looking over Seireitei, Kairu made note of how the Gotei 13 had came together after the war against Aizen. At the time, he was only being looked at to be captain of squad 9, in place of Kaname. But when it was found that Captain Commander Yamamoto had died in the fight, he found himself being put into the seat. He took pride in the fact that he had reorganized the squads, and he liked how they had come much closer together in this time of crisis. They seemed to be a lot closer together, more cooperative with each other, and squabbling seemed lower. Resting his hand on his zanpakuto, Akira Hikari, he closed his eyes and took in the solace of serenity that the day was giving.

Markus let out a light sigh admiring the world around him as he looked out at soul society. captain that word carried a lot of force these days. so few of them remained it was so rare to actually see any of them. and yet even with fourth squad running its rounds he still had a chance to get away. Still it was only briefly he would have to return to fourth squad to pick up another hospital shift soon. He stretched and yawned.
“work will bury you, you know that right? Go ahead and skip a shift you know life is more then just healing.” markus batted off the Zanpakuto’s thoughts thinking like that caused weakness and disrupted the natural ballince of soul society. if he skiped his shift in the hospital some poor fourth squad member would have to pick it up. these were the thoughts as he spotted the captain commander. “OI kai! What’s up my commander and chiefy? Out to stretch your legs? Or you ditching soul society?”

Kairu had kept his eyes closed as he heard Markus come up to him. The attitude Markus gave him on a constant basis really didn't sit well with him. It was an annoyance to him, and one he didn't really like at all. "Captain Nearmont, your lack for respect and courtesy never cease to amaze me. You will never change I suppose. So, tell me. Does everything bode well with Squad 4?" Kairu opened his eyes, and took his free hand, massaging lightly underneath his teal arm band, a reminder of a memory from long ago. Letting go of his zanpakuto, he moved his arms into a folded position across his chest. Turning his head towards Markus, he noticed the sly smirk to his face, and made him wonder what was going on through the man's head. Knowing Markus, Kairu figured it was something he didn't want to know.

Markus sighed he wasn’t that bad all his work got in on time and he even did hospital shifts his work ethics were way up there. Its just that unohana and yamamato had the same level of relation seeing as they were both first captains of soul society. so when it came to the predecessors of the first and fourth squad, why not keep it that way? they were on almost the same level of power so who really cared if he was ‘disrespectful’.
“ah kai san don’t get your spirit in a not. ive done all my work the fourth squad stands at the ready to dispence medical aid where ever needed… soon as we can go to where the injured are that is.” markus waved lazily at the commander.
Markus wanted to just sit back before he had to get back to work and a chance to sit back with the captain commander was rare enough to make it intresting. He put down a bag like most of the fourth squad members carried and pulled out two lunch boxes. “I always pack an extra lunch ever since getting my shikai its like I eat for two human beings. So would you like to join me for lunch?” he held out the spare lunch box it wasn’t anything really just some sandwiches a drink and some other things on the side.

Kairu sighed. Obviously Markus would never change. Granted, he had gotten used to that fact, as much as he didn't like it. Kairu had been brought up being taught to respect nobles and those higher than him. And all throughout his career in the Gotei 13 as a sentry, then as a teacher, those teachings became even more placed into him. For him, respect was everything, and the proper respect should always be shown. Moving over across the way from Markus, he sat down, placing his zanpakuto across his lap, and his wrists over it. Watching Markus eat for a second, he couldn't help but notice that even though it seemed small, his lunch did seem to be pretty big in some ways.
"Yes, you do seem to eat a fair amount, and often. I'd have to say if it weren't for the fact you were the captain of Squad 4, you'd be a little larger than others. But it's good to know that your squad is still prepared. I fear that worse is yet to come still, again. Tell me Captain Nearmont. How do you think that our squads have done in the past few years? We've been under a lot of change. Do you think that it is for the better?" Kairu asked thoughtfully.

Markus thought for a moment looking at kairu how had soul society changed? he looked at out the seriatai the view from the area they were was amazing, and it put a lot into perspective. No matter the differences from the captains the buildings all looked the same. It was always the unblinking sun with the passing clouds in short a paradise.
Markus took another bite of his sandwich as he continued to consider what the other captain had said it was a difficult question his squad was the maintance for this world this paradise was kept clean by the many members of the fourth but under this paradise it had to it a network. The captains were the majesty and main might of the soul society if just one turns traitor then its hell on earth. “how good is your history Kai san?”
Markus looked at the lands of soul society his eyes drifting from one squad to another. As if he was reading a book. Remembering lesions he had been taught in the academy long ago. It had been almost 600 years since he was found as a street rat and forced into the work of second squad. And he loved every minute of it. “I don’t know what its like in the academy these days but back when I was learning it was a mandatory course and a big one.”
Markus smiled thinking back to his days in the academy trying to have a point to this question he looked at the grand picture. “ten thousand years ago yamamato and unohana the captains of our squads and eleven others left there relative homes gathered together to try and change the world. the reason why there are thirteen captains are because there were thirteen founders. And only two of them lived to see this. a small group changed the world forever, and created the ultimate force for good. Whether they had been morally a demon like zaraki or greedy like shunsui. They were the captains of soul society. the first set. And now here we are, the predecessors in ten thousand years lots of changes have happened and many different captains have taken place, but we you and me are only the second people to inherit our squads. People will feel resentment unohana was the mother of soul society yamamato the father of the academy. Loosing them feels like… a piece of our soul has been torn out, and yet here we are. The next of the line, and in my humble opingion we wont be the last, but heres to tenthousand more years of soul society this time the new generation kicks in.” he raised his glass in a toast.

Kairu nodded his head in agreement. Markus had a point. The two of them were in spots that had been held by only one other person for so long. It was almost unnoticeable in the fact that they had been moved into the slots. The unfortunate fact was that in the past few years, the older captains had been moved to Squad 0. So Kairu had been forced with the task of rebuilding the Gotei 13. He been somewhat successful so far, but he was still missing a few captains. He raised his hand in a motion that he had a glass in hand to toast along with Markus. "I have to agree with you on that. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future. The Gotei 13 is still in new hands after all, and it is up to me to shape it again. I just hope that all will be shaped well. As long as you captains can keep up with the work load that is. Which you do seem to be doing Captain Nearmont. I do respect that, even if you don't fully give respects."

Markus sighed there was a difference between respect and polight speech that the cc didn’t seem to grasp. “I do respect you Kai san but I am not going to bow to you just because your number is three higher then mine. In my mind were both captains were equals the only difference between us is you call the meetings. So I call you by a nickname its not because I don’t respect you. I listen to your opinions I am just not going to kiss your ass.” Markus shrugged and continued to eat. “I think the biggist question is what happened to our friends on the other side.”

Seireitei, what a beautiful sight to behold. Walking along the area, JongJong decided to take a moment to breathe and relax. Constantly having to correct the errors of his squad and make sure they were doing their jobs right got to JongJong after awhile, and he had to take a break lest the stress break his ever sharp mind.
Walking along the grounds, he found his friend Captain Markus Nearmont talking with their Commanding Officer, Captain Commander Kairu, who was a bit stuck up for JongJong's taste, but nonetheless was an excellent leader. Deciding to sit and talk along with them, he moved up to sit beside them, but not without first hearing some of what the two were saying about the human world and whatever odd reason that was keeping them from it.
"Good afternoon Markus, Commander Kairu. Mind if I sit down and eat with you good fellows?" He said, sitting down and eating anyway. "I overheard a little bit of what you said, and I apologize for the slight eavesdrop, but I too am also confused as to why we can't get people over to the Human World. But on the silver lining side of our cloud, at least we got Soul Society back in check, eh?" JongJong said nudging Markus and Kairu in a friendly manner. "So tell me, how are things going for yas?" JongJon said as he slurped his noodles from the bowl he bought with him.
