Hello, sometime in the close future I will be running a D&D ( ver 3.5) game on a site called rpgtonight.com. It is an online tabletop for RPGs. I am currently practicing using, and things seem to be turning out well.
I'm looking for a couple of experienced players that help any of those new to the game through. If you don't have the material to make a D&D ver 3.5 character, or don't know how to play 3.5 at all in any fashon, I will personally run you through the basics and help you create one on rpgtonight of for the game, luckily it allows two people to work on a character sheet at a time. Game times will be decided once all players have signed up, I'm going to take a fairly large group, so that we can deal with sudden dropouts.
Now for the fun stuff.
The Problem at Sigmunds Drop, a D&D adventure for 3-6 level 1-2 players.
The town of fairhold has had its share of troubles, robberies, murder, and betrayel by the government have been common. Despite this, the people begun taking in wealth due to a new spice they have begun selling. The cheer of new construction is ruined, when four of the worked, large, strong men, are reported missing. The local gossip is that they were spirited away by some beast to Sigmund's Drop, a large chasm surrounding the penacle of a nearby mountain. Can you and your party discover the fates of these men and liberate the town?
In short Kill the dragon, save the town, loot everything that moves.
This is a VERY simple adventure, as to make it hopefully friendly to new players, while still drawing them in.
The adventure is 3-6. I will take six, and when the day comes, as long as three make it, we will still run it.
When creating your characters, take into account the archtypes that a balanced party has.
It has...
A Face- The character that specializes in communicating with NPCs and making the best of any social situation. Can be any class, but perferably not barbarian or the like. Might need one of the experienced players to fill this role, as it acts sort of like the leader of the party.
A Defender - This character is your front line wall. It can't force enemies to target him over the guys in robes, but he can put himself in the way. Needs to be a mellee based character who can get his hp and armor class pretty high, there are multiple class options for this one.
A Striker - This character specializes in dealing damage in short periods of time. It can be any class, normally, but with lvl 1s, I would suggest not trying to use a cleric or wizard for this role. He needs to be able kill a guy when time is an issue.
A Controller - Generally needs to be a spellcaster, this is the character that specializes in crowd control and making enemies easier to attack. These characters, if done right, can completely break level 1 adventures, so the experienced players don't need to take this slot.
A Healer - I'm not going to lie to you. For a level 1 adventure, this needs to be a cleric. However, this can be a good spot for new players, as others can walk you through how to set up your spells correctly.
A Utility - This character is the solution to the following example.
Your party approaches a high raised platform, there is no ladder or stairwell leading up to it. You need to get the ring off of the top, but none of your party members have any specialties besides combat.
This is a character who helps his party out with useful skills or abilities outside of combat. Wizards, with their large spell range, and rogues, with their huge skill range, are usually very good at this.
There you have it. If you would like to join, you can start by posting here, as well as what party role(s) you would be interested in, and going ahead and signing up on rpgtonight.com I will personally find you in Xat and walk you through character creation, as well as teaching you how to use this program.
Okeydoke, happy faces everybody.
